Common Tern

Description: Size of a thrush, with a white body, with a light blue-grey tinge; the mantle is light blue-grey, and the cap is black. The tail is long and much forked. The length is 31-35 cm.

Habitat: A common bird, settling in plain lakes and swamps with smaller river-reaches of open water, the common tern dwells with other bird species. The main hunting technique is a searching glide several meters over the water, at times a hover, followed by a plunge with complete submergence.
