Oystercatcher

Description: Size of a crow, the bird is heavily-built, showing contrasting black-and-white plumage. Its orange bill is big and flattened on the sides. The pink legs are not long, ending with three toes. The length is 40-46 cm.

Habitat: This is a rare species of mosaic distribution. It inhabits open, mainly sandy rocky sea and lake shores, as well as banks of larger rivers. Oystercatcher is listed in the RF Red Book.
