Black-headed Gull

Description: A bit bigger than a crow, this gull has a dark brown head, seeming black at distance. It is bigger than the Little Gull, the dark plumage on the head does not cover the nape, the under surface of the wings is not black, with only the wing tips being dark. Its length is 38-44 cm.

Habitat: A common bird, settling in most diverse inland water-bodies in the plains, in hardly accessible shoals overgrown with sedge and reed, on quagmires and islands.
