Black-tailed Godwit

Description: Size of a pigeon, it is a long-legged and long-billed sandpiper. The bill is massive, pinkish or orange yellow with dark top. The color on the head, neck and upper chest in mating males is bright rufous. The bird is 36-44 cm long.

Habitat: Black-tailed godwits are common, nesting in open grassy wetlands, meadows and swamps free from thick and tall vegetation, and sometimes in dry meadows and fields.
