Eurasian Woodcock

Description: Bigger than a pigeon, the bird is long-billed and heavily-built. The coloration is a mix of champagne, rufous, brown and dark red-brown spots in the upper-parts, and of ripply barring below. It is 33-35 cm.

Habitat: A common crepuscular or nocturnal bird, dwelling in thick deciduous or mixed, damp forests, close to wood marshes, creeks and rivulets.
