Description: In size similar to the Brant Goose, the Barnacle Goose weighs about 1.1-2.2 kg. From other geese it differs by two-color plumage – black on top on white from the bottom. Besides, its stark white sides of the head, forehead and throat stand out clearly.
Habitat: For nesting the bird prefers mountainous landscapes of the north – rocky precipices and coastlines, steep slopes alternating with lows overgrown with juicy grass, and banks of rock-ribbed creaks and lakes.
