Yellow Sedge

Carex flavaIt is a perennial bunchgrass 10-50 cm tall. The leaves are soft, with the lower floral leaf usually peeled down and several times longer than the inflorescence. The flower spikes are 1-2 cm long below the staminate.

It grows everywhere in marshes, shorelines and wet meadows, flowering in May-June.
