Little Crake

Description: The Little Crake is 18-20 cm long, with the wingspan of 34-39 cm. Males weigh 30-72 gr, and females – 36-65 gr. The life expectancy of the species is almost 6 years. The brown plumage on the upper parts has a pattern of blackish and white. The under parts are bluish grey in males with pale stripes on the flanks, and brownish in females.

Habitat: The bird settles in various grassy and reedy habitats in marshes and lake wetlands. It is a rare species, common only to a few areas.
