Black Stork

Description: A large long-legged and long-necked bird, the black stork in its physique is a complete copy of the wide-known white stork. The greater part of plumage is black with violet and green sheen. The down side of the body is white. The bird is 90-100 long.

Habitat: The bird chooses to nest when a combination of tall-stemmed woods and vast open river valleys, with meadows, swamps and shallows, is available. Being secretive and cautious, the bird settles in remote woods. It is one of the rarest bird species in the country and the world, registered in both the International and Russian Red Books.
