Striped Field Mouse

Exif_JPEG_PICTUREStriped field mice are common throughout the region. They can be encountered in the fields, bushes, forest edges, gardens and orchards. By the winter, they move closer to human dwellings, homes and cattle yards. They can be often found in haystacks and ricks, and under swaths left in fields. They eat grains, seeds and grass stems. The species is an agricultural pest; it gnaws the bark off the fruiters, and is a vehicle of disease.
