Bearded Tit

Description: Its length is 14 to 15.5 cm. The plumage is light yellow brown. Mature males have a bluish grey head with a long black “beard” and a white throat. The tail feathers are white below. Mature females, on the contrary, have a beige brown head lacking the black beard. The throat is dingy white, and the tail feathers are beige from below. Juveniles are alike adult females, yet having the black mid-mantle and black areas in the tail. Their plumage is rather yellow beige.

Habitat: It inhabits vast flood lands, with the population numbers drastically fluctuating. In Russia, it can be encountered from the western borders through to Trans-Baikal.
