Fan-Leaved Water Crowfoot

Batrachium circinatumThese water crowfoots are perennial rooted vegetation of various lengths; with submerged fan-like fine-threaded dark green leaves – fairly coarse in some, and sticky when brought to surface in others. They bloom with white flowers on stalks above the water, and can be encountered in various water bodies – from rivers to bayous to ditches to ooze beds and down to 1.5-2 m depths. With the water bodies drying, crowfoots go terrestrial.
