Common River-Grass

Scolochloa festucaceaThe common river-grass is a perennial rootstock rough grass 100-150 cm tall. The leaves have scabrous and sharp edges. It is widespread in forests and wooded steppe, and partly in steppe. In wetlands and swamped soils it does form vast thickets. Before pollination, it is a desirable cattle fodder.
