This perennial is 50-100 cm tall. The stems are hollow and prostrate, rooting at nodes. In the plants originated in water, the submerged leaves pinnatisected into linear or threadlike doles.
It is common in shoals and marshy shores, sticky alder forests and meadow wetlands. It flowers in May-July.
